National POW/MIA Recognition Day - 18 th Sep

In 1979, the US congress passes a resolution to observe the MIA Recognition Day on July 18. It was observed on April 9 in 1983. Finally, from 1986 it was observed on third Friday of September. People observed this day to remember the missing people during the Vietnam War. Rallies by soldiers are held in some states of United States. On this day the American flag and MIA flag were jointly hoisted. Many events are take place in places like museums and historical places. It is just an observance day in United States, where all the companies and schools are opened as usual.
